Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell returned to her native Mississippi in 2003. After nine years of training and practicing ophthalmology in Augusta, GA and Memphis, TN she and her husband, Dr. Blake Mitchell, decided to come home. The reason? To raise their daughter, Kallen Elizabeth, in the state they grew up in and loved.

While working as an ophthalmologist in Memphis, Elizabeth was introduced to a renowned esthetician, Mona Sappenfield, and they discovered a shared desire to introduce a truly elite form of medical spa to the Jackson MS area. In 2003 Mona Spa and Laser Center of Jackson was opened, a true partnership of cutting edge medicine and esthetic excellence. Housed in Dr. Mitchell's new ophthalmology practice, Elizabeth Mitchell Eye Care, the new spa quickly took wings and grew to a vibrant business.

The beautiful new spa was opened in lovely and convienent Highland Village in February 2008 to give our clients the perfect setting for what was always the perfect treatment. A sanctuary for clients who become friends, an oasis of health and beauty. With the addition of the wellness and medical acupuncture skills of Dr. Blake, the spa truly is now a world-class respite for those who desire the best of "high-touch / high-tech" care.
